Where You’ll Add Value
The Tax Analyst is accountable to the VP, Tax to ensure the timely and accurate completion of various tax related tasks for the organization. The Tax Analyst will assist with income tax compliance, income tax provisions, and analytical support for the tax team. The successful candidate will work mainly with other tax team members in carrying out his or her responsibilities. Relies on strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, attention to details, communication, and good time management skills.
How You’ll Make a Difference
1. Annual Tax Filings
Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of various income tax returns and associated supporting schedules and analysis.
2. Financial Reporting
Responsible for the preparation of quarterly tax provisions in order to meet the organization and regulatory reporting requirements. Assist with the quarterly review and year-end audit process.
3. Other Corporate Tax/Accounting Duties
Assist ad hoc projects assigned, e.g., documentation of emerging tax related requirements or processes, preparation of analytical schedules.
The Expertise You’ll Bring
University Degree in accounting, finance, or mathematics
1-2 years of relevant accounting and tax experience
Intermediate working knowledge of MS Office applications, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Experience with Taxprep, Taxforms, Taxnetpro, and Yardi is an asset
Core Competencies
Strong analytical skills
Good organizational and time management skills, attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and as part of an effective team
