Where You’ll Add Value
The Supervisor, Corporate Accounting is accountable to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, providing assistance with the corporate accounting and reporting functions for Morguard. This includes providing accurate and timely financial information as required by management, including the preparation and completion of Morguard’s consolidated financial statements.
How You’ll Make a Difference
1. General Accounting
a. Assist with monitoring month end and quarter end close and roll up process for all the divisions
b. Assist with the preparation and monitoring of monthly and quarterly reporting timeline
c. Responsible for determining and recording acquisition/disposition entries as required
d. Responsible for reconciling and maintaining the consolidated intercompany
e. Assist with managing and overseeing working paper support process for notes to consolidated financial statements
2. Preparation of Divisional Financial Statements Package
a. Assist in the preparation of MRC divisional financial statements and managing/updating financial statements for review comments
b. Assist in the preparation of the quarterly MRC legal entity financial statements
c. Assist in the preparation of the financial statements for Tax
d. Responsible for maintaining Real Estate Properties and Capex analysis
3. Preparation of Annual Divisional Budget Package
a. Provides assistance, where necessary, to the annual budget and periodic re-forecasting processes, including variance analysis.
b. Responsible for the budgeted financial statements for Tax
4. Quarterly/Annual Audit
a. Assist with the co-ordinating and managing the delivery of all working papers and supporting documents to facilitate the completion of external audit
b. Assist with the monitoring the status of all audit related requests and queries
5. Management reporting
a. Assist with the preparation of various management reporting for key industry metrics including NOI, REP Valuations, Capital Expenditures, etc.
b. Assist with the preparation of ad-hoc reports/projects as required
The Expertise You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Commerce or equivalent
A CPA designation
Minimum 3 years of direct experience in Corporate accounting and reporting process experience in sophisticated business setting
Demonstrated track record of creating and implementing strategic change and innovation
Demonstrated knowledge of related compliance and security regulations, requirements and standards
Proven record of successful project and change management at the organizational level.
Excellent computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, etc.)
Good knowledge of accounting software (preferably YARDI 7).

Annualized Base Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000 CAD.

The salary range listed for this position reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation offered may vary and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, skills, certifications, internal pay equity and business needs.
